Virat Kohli feels 1-0 can work in their favour to be more positive and optimistic in the second Test. He feels Wanderers Test is a golden opportunity to win the Test series.
“New Year is a very good marker for you to analyse how you played your cricket. And we played some outstanding cricket over the last 2-3 years, especially overseas. It feels amazing to be 1-0 up and sets up beautifully for Wanderers. We can go out there and be even more positive and optimistic.”– Virat Kohli
“Test series in South Africa in any place is not easy and Centurion is obviously the most difficult of them all. We ended getting results within 4 Days is testimony to the fact that we have the side (force to be reckoned). The strength of the squad was in full day in this Test match. We were just looking for opportunities to win this game and that’s how we play cricket. Given an opportunity at any stage and we’ll pounce on it, he stated further.
“Beautiful position to be in 1-0 up away from home. We put the opposition under pressure again. The second Test is a golden opportunity and something that I am absolutely certain that every player is looking forward to and we can’t for Jo’burg,” he added.
KL Rahul went on to say that the Indian Cricket Team will look to go on and win the series.

- The statement comes as India have never lost to South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg that is set to host the next Test.
- India have played 4 Tests at the venue and emerged victorious on multiple occasions while a couple of games ended in a draw.
- Virat Kohli & Co could only become the second Asian country after Sri Lanka beat South Africa in their backyard (SL 2on 2-0 in 2019).
- Kohli will become the first captain to win the Test series in South Africa. India will also complete Test series victories in SENA countries.
