India vs South Africa: Makhaya Ntini lauds ‘special’ Jasprit Bumrah

Ex-Protean pacer Makhaya Ntini is fascinated by 'special' Jasprit Bumrah as he is set to play crucial role in India vs South Africa 1st Test.

Former South African fast bowler has heaped praise on a special Jasprit Bumrah, who has a major role to play in the India vs South Africa 1st Test. Ntini is fascinated by Bumrah’s release point as well as the angle the Indian pace spearhead manages to use to trouble batters.

“Look where Bumrah releases the ball. He releases the ball from the top of his head. So, he gets the angle to bring the ball back in. He can get deliveries to straighten after pitching,” Makhaya Ntini told PTI about Jasprit Bumrah on the sidelines of India vs South Africa 1st Test in Centurion.

India’s leading wicketkater in SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand & Australia), Jasprit Bumrah has troubled batters with hsi awkward angles. That he has 101 Test wickets in SENA countries in only 25 matches is a testament to that fact.

Makhaya Ntini had played against the likes of Zaheer Khan, Asish Nehra and Javagal Srinath among other Indian pacers. But he has no qualms accepting that Jasprit Bumrah is special.

“I don’t know if he has powerful wrists and action is always the same. That’s how beautiful it is. His yorkers, he doesn’t miss any, those are the things everyone gets to enjoy. India isn’t the team without Bumrah,” Makhaya Ntini added.

Jasprit Bumrah will have a major role to play in India vs South Africa 1st Test. With India down 208/8, Indian pace spearhead will need a special spell to dismantle Proteas. India need him to deliver that with Mohammed Shami out injured. Bumrah already has 26 wickets in seven matches in South Africa. And he will look to add to his tally in Centurion.
