Venkatesh Iyer

After taking IPL 2021 like a duck to water, Venkatesh Iyer went on to make his T20I debut. Now, he is taking the centre stage in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Madhya Pradesh allrounder has already slammed scores of 151, 71 and 112 to ensure he is one the favourites to join Team India for South Africa ODIs. Meanwhile, the youngster has already secured a hefty paycheque of Rs 8 crore from KKR for IPL 2022 retention.

Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad is in red-hot form in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. After winning IPL’s Orange Cap earlier this year, now he has raised his bar to another level. He has already smashed three consecutive hundreds for Maharashtra in the season. He struck scores of 136, 154* and 124 against Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh & Kerala respectively. The development has almost booked his place in the upcoming 3-match ODI series in South Africa. Besides being certain at booking a place for ODIs, Gaikwad has raked Rs 6 crore for IPL 2022 retention.

Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal is all set for a place in the upcoming ODI series after making his comeback to T20Is post T20WC snub. He has returned with 11 wickets in 4 matches while playing for Haryana in Vijay Hazare Trophy. The leggie had taken joint-most wickets by a spinner in IPL 2021 along with Rashid Khan. Now, he is looking for an appraisal in his IPL salary after ending ties with RCB. He did not feature in the retentions. With an experience of over 100 IPL matches under his belt at a phenomenal economy rate of 7.59, Chahal is likely to raise his last IPL salary of Rs 6 crore.

KS Bharat

KS Bharat, who made his way to the Team India test squad against New Zealand, will now be aiming to feature in the ODIs. The Andhra Pradesh batsman had a breakthrough year at RCB. He might have failed to make his Test debut, but the dream of playing for the country could be first fulfilled in a coloured uniform. He recently slammed 161 runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy to remind the selectors about the second proper wicket-keeper role in the limited-overs format. The youngster is expected to witness a windfall in his IPL salary like a number of youngsters.

Washington Sundar

After a lengthy absence from the team India squad due to injury, Washington Sundar’s timely performance in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy could be what just the doctor ordered. The youngster took a fifer in his last game against Puducherry. Overall, the youngster has scalped 10 wickets in just 4 appearances. The development comes amid the absence of injured allrounder R Jadeja and Axar Patel. Sundar can fill in the role of an allrounder to assist Yuzvendra Chahal or R Ashwin in the spin department. RCB had picked the youngster for Rs 3.2 crore in IPL 2018. He will be looking for a rise in his IPL 2022 salary.
