India squad announcement after WC semis, Hardik unlikely for IND vs AUS T20 series

Hardik Pandya unlikely for IND vs AUS T20 series, Team announcement after World Cup semis

As the ICC World Cup draws to its close, the Men in Blue begin their preparation for the India vs Australia (IND vs AUS) T20 series. With Hardik Pandya injured and needing time to get fit for the upcoming 5 match series, the India Team Squad announcement could take time. Currently, the team is busy with the World Cup and thus the announcement will need more time.

As per reports by the PTI, the India squad for the Australia series is likely to be announced after the World Cup semi-finals. After 8 wins out of 8 games, India stands on top of the ICC World Cup points table and became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals.

With the entire focus on the World Cup, the T20 squad announcement will be made after the semis. It can be expected that stalwarts like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and others will get a much-needed break after the World Cup while a young team will lock horns with the Men in Yellow.

No Hardik Pandya in IND vs AUS series?

As per reports by the PTI, India’s T20 skipper Hardik Pandya is likely to not be available for the series. The veteran all-rounder will need some more time to recover from the ankle ligament tear which he suffered during the IND vs BAN clash.

“There is some time before Hardik can be declared fit and available for selection. It would be more practical for him to try and complete his rehabilitation with a possible ‘RTP’ (Return To Play) during SA series. It will certainly be NCA Sports science team’s call,” a senior BCCI source privy to the developments told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
