Other than that, India do not have much to tinker about. The two openers had their problems but India do not have any other opening options. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan both struggled against South Africa’s express pace with the new ball and they will have to work on that.

Hardik Pandya played the part of a batsman well he failed to replicate his bowling performance in IPL 2022. He will have to work on that.
As for spin options, it was an off-day for both spinners. Even though Rishabh Pant under-utilised Yuzvendra Chahal, the experienced leggie is expected to play a big role on a dry Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
