IND VS WI LIVE: FanCode, DD Sports struggle for sponsors continue for INDIA WestIndies LIVE Broadcast: Follow IND WI 5th T20I LIVE
- The 5th T20 will begin at 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 07
- The 5th T20I will be played at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium, Lauderhill, Florida.
It has been learnt that the rates on DD Sports are Rs 3 lakh for a 10 Sec spot on ODIs and Rs 5 lakh for the Twenty20 Internationals. But the agency selling the sponsorship for DD Sports is struggling to finalize deals.
Vin Global Media is the sales agent that is selling the series on DD Sports to advertisers. As the norm is Ad revenue will be shared 75:25 in favour of the rights holder FanCode. But so far agency has got lukewarm response to the series.
“Advertisers are not too keen on the series. Some discounts may make them show some interest but so far it is very low key”, informed one of the member of the agency selling the series.
“It’s first time that series will not be broadcasted on a SATELLITE CHANNEL. Rather it’s going on a FTA. How DD or FanCode communicates and market the same to consumers will be interesting to watch. Overall with so much cricket happening, I guess it will be a struggle for the right holders to rope advertisers for the series”, said one of the top agency expert.
InsideSport tried reaching out to representatives of FanCode to check the response of advertisers. But did not get any reply.
India Tour of WestIndies – INDIA WI LIVE Streaming: In a first for Indian cricket, India tour of West Indies is not being broadcasted LIVE by any PRIVATE SATELLITE Channel. Rather, three ODIs and five match T20 series will just be LIVE Streamed by Dream11 parent entity owned OTT platform FanCode.
The Sports OTT platform has partnered with DD Prasar Bharti to broadcast the matches LIVE on DD Freedish.
The ODI series and three T20Is will be hosted across Trinidad and Tobago and St Kitts & Nevis, with the final two T20Is scheduled for Lauderhill, Florida in the USA
It is worth noting that since the start of Cable & Satellite Television era, it will be the 1st time that series will not be available for broadcast on PRIVATE SPORTS NETWORKS.

Last year, FanCode had inked a deal with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to air the WestIndies HOME CRICKET until 2024. During the rights period, India is also scheduled to make another visit to the West Indies besides the upcoming series.
Other teams who will visit the West Indies in the rights period for cricket series include England, Australia, South Africa and Pakistan. Earlier, WICB rights were with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI).
