IND vs WI LIVE: India vs West Indies 1st ODI LIVE – Team India has been handed a major blow just a day before India vs West Indies 1st ODI. Vice-captain Ravindra Jadeja is injured and is doubtful for the entire ODI series against the Caribbean side. As per reports, Ravindra Jadeja has an injury on his left knee and the medical team wants the player to opt out of the ODI series in an effort not to aggravate his injury. Injuries and fitness problems are starting to cause a major headache for Rahul Dravid and Co. Jadeja who has a slight niggle on his left knee is doubtful for the first ODI match. Now to make matter worse for the young Indian squad that has traveled to Caribbeans, Jadeja is likely to miss the remaining two ODI games in a bid to recover well.

Jadeja was made the deputy of Shikhar Dhawan in the upcoming 3-match ODI series. Reports further claim that Jadeja is likely to be available for the 5-match T20I series. The last of the two games will be played in Florida. With Jadeja set to miss the action, Yuzvendra Chahal and Shardul Thakur are the remaining senior ODI members of the team.

Other senior players of the squad, including the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and others have been rested for the Caribbean tour. Jadeja’s absence will be a huge blow to the Indian lower middle-order. Set to take the role of a floater in the squad, Jadeja’s spot is now likely to be taken by Axar Patel. Axar is an abled spinner and has a tendency of hitting the ball out of the park.
