Deepak Chahar put in an all-round display on his return to the Indian side for the IND vs WI 3rd ODI on Friday. Chahar came into bat with India in a tricky spot having lost Shreyas Iyer and having more than 12 overs for the innings to finish. The pace bowler as in his previous two ODIs got going straight away and showcased his prowess with the bat, scoring a fine 38 stitching a valuable partnership with Washington Sundar.
He was on course to score his 3rd half-century in as many games but fell short in his bid to accelerate the scoring. With the ball, Deepak Chahar kicked off the West Indian downfall, picking up two wickets in the powerplay to derail their chase before it got going. The former CSK pacer foxed Brandon King before dismissing the in-form Shamarh Brooks for a duck in the same over as the visitors were reduced to 25/3 in five overs.
