Fresh from a stupendous comeback series in the ODIs, Yuzvendra Chahal will be India’s regular spin option but it remains to be seen if exciting Rajasthan leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi gets a maiden T20I call-up. He was rewarded after an impressive run in the IPL and domestic circuit to be selected for the series. With Washington Sundar ruled out of the series with a hamstring injury, it remains to be seen if the youngster from Jodhpur will get his maiden international cap.
Avesh Khan
After warming the bench in the T20Is after Sri Lanka, England and New Zealand series, IPL 2021’s second-highest wicket-taker Avesh Khan will be keen for the T20I cap. He had impressed with his exceptional performance for Delhi Capitals to help them lead the points table. But with stiff competition from senior pros like Jasprit Bumrah, he missed out. Now, he will be finally vying for a place in the shortest format after missing the ODI series. He was signed for Rs 10 crore by Lucknow Super Giants for IPL 2022.
Deepak Hooda
After ODI debut, Lucknow Super Giants allrounder Deepak Hooda will look to make full opportunity in the T20Is. He shined on his ODI debut and finished the innings for Men in Blue. He also contributed with 29 & 1/24 after his unbeaten 26. He can boost lower-middle order after promising ODI performances. But Venkatesh Iyer will be keen to deliver after the ODI snub in the built-up to the T20 World Cup.
