‘I wanted to stay not out in all three games. The mindset was to apace the innings and I knew I can take on any bowlers towards the end if I get set’, Shreyas Iyer told Yuzvendra Chahal in a BCCI video.

- Shreyas Iyer scored three unbeaten fifties against Sri Lanka in T20Is- 57*, 74* & 73*.
- The excellent form makes him a frontrunner for a place in the India Playing XI for the 1st Test in Mohali starting Feb 6.
- He made most of the opportunity at No.3 in SuryaKumar Yadav & Virat Kohli’s absence in built-up to the T20 World Cup.
- Now, he would be determined to take the place of out of favour Cheteshwar Pujara at the No.3 slot or Ajinkya Rahane in the Test series.

Shreyas Iyer, who slammed maiden century on Test debut, further stated that he loves staying in the present moment and don’t think too much about the past.
“I switch on, switch off and move on because we are playing back-to-back matches. I try to stay in the present and not think too much about the past,” he spoke about the upcoming two Tests.
