Team India players begin preparations for IND vs SL ODI series
Rohit Sharma is currently spending time away from cricket having injured his finger during the Bangladesh ODI last month. The Team India skipper is close to getting fit and is expected to start batting pretty soon. Virat Kohli is currently holidaying with wife Anushka Sharma and is expected to start his practice session pretty soon.
Jasprit Bumrah was recently added to the ODI squad despite the selectors being cautious about his injury. The pacer was selected for the ODI series after being given clean chit in terms of fitness. The Mumbai Indians cricketer has been out of action for months following a back injury. Team India’s premier fast bowler was injured during the 3rd T20I match against Australia in Hyderabad.
As a result of the injury he was forced to miss the T20 World Cup in Australia as India exited in the semi-final. The 29-year-old is expected to visit the National Cricket Academy (NCA) before taking the flight to Guwahati and joining rest of the members. The return of Mohammad Shami is also a major boost for the team India. The pacer last featured during the 2022 T20World Cup in Australia. He was set to play ODI series in Bangladesh but was ruled out of the series due to a shoulder injury just before the opening match.
With Sri Lanka team currently involved in the three-match T20I series, some of the ODI squad players have already begun their preparation for the series. Shreyas Iyer and Mohamad Shami recently uploaded a video on their preparations for the upcoming ODI series. Mohammad Siraj was seen sweating in the gym before joining the team.

Iyer was in great form during the 2022 season scoring a total of 724 runs from 17 matches. He scored runs at an average of 55.69 and smashed one century and six half-centuries. Mohammad Shami on the other hand will be returning to the ODI setup. The pacer last played an ODI match for India was against England in July 2022.

Jasprit Bumrah Returns: India to have full-strength attack for ODI series
Including Jasprit Bumrah in the ODI team, Rohit Sharma will have a full-strength bowling attack at his disposal for India vs Sri Lanka ODI series. Apart from Bumrah, the pace lineup will include Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik. Hardik Pandya will provide the cover for these seam bowling options.
