IND vs SA Test: No media allowed in India’s intra-squad practice match in Pretoria

Shubman Gill stroked a century with the bat in the practice match played on December 21 (Thursday).

Shubman Gill was in his best form during Indian team’s intra-squad training game at the Tuks Oval on Thursday (December 21). Even though there wasn’t an opportunity to see what was happening as no media personnel allowed to watch the match, Shubman Gill stroked a century on Day 2 of the three-day practice match.

Team India head coach Rahul Dravid and team management didn’t want the match to be watched by outsiders as it can give a clearer idea about their strategy to be deployed against the Proteas.

Apart from Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal also scored a half-century. Indian captain Rohit Sharma was also seen batting well during the practice match. The match is being played to see the preparations for the first test.

The good thing for India is that their fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, also bowled brilliantly in the intra-squad match. Virat Kohli also looked in great form in the Indian intra-squad match.

India Test Squad: Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan (wk), KL Rahul (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Prasidh Krishna.
