As of now, their focus will be on the South African team. The Proteas will be eager to deliver their A game against world number one India in the shorter format.

Like India, this is South Africa’s last series before they travel to Australia. Hence, South Africa will also be trying to find their best combination for the T20 World Cup in Australia. Shamsi is okay with the changes, which could be forced in India. However, Shamsi also made it clear that they are looking for a series win, though the experiments will be there in the three-match series.

“The mood in the team is really good. We arrived here recently. We are excited to be back together as the South African team. Playing against India is a nice challenge. This team has been about that, overcoming challenges,” Shamsi said during a press conference.

“Yes, leading upto the World Cup, there are a few things that the coach and the captain would want to tinker around with. That is okay. It is about fine-tuning things they see fit and being ready for the World Cup. But this series is also important. We are here to win the series as well.”

It is going to be a stern test for India in the series with South Africa comprising a solid team. In fact, they have one of the best bowling attacks in the world. Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Marco Janses, Lungi Ndidi and Andile Phehlukwayo can trouble any batting line up. Heading into the World Cup, the likes of KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and other batters will be tested strongly.

Even the batting department of South Africa is strong. Quinton de Kock is a class act. Add the the likes of Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen among others, they have it in them to beat any team.
