Gavaskar Backs Pant and Karthik – PICKS India as WINNER vs Pakistan

Prior to India’s critical match against Pakistan at the T20 World Cup on Sunday, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar made a significant prediction about the starting lineup that would include Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, and Dinesh Karthik. Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are two excellent alternatives for wicketkeeping for Team India in the T20 World Cup. On October 23, when the team plays its inaugural match against archrival Pakistan, only one is most likely to enter the field.

However, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has backed Pant and Karthik to play if all-arounder Hardik Pandya can fill the position of the fifth bowler.

“It’s just that maybe, if they decide to go with six bowlers, with Hardik Pandya being the sixth bowler, then he (Pant) may not be able to find a place,” Gavaskar said on Star Sports show ‘Cricket Live’.

“But if they decide to go with Hardik Pandya as the fifth bowler, then Rishabh Pant has an opportunity to bat at number six and Karthik maybe at number seven, followed by the four bowlers. So, that could well happen. We just have to wait and see.”

Sehwag’s prediction on Babar Azam – Predicts Babar to score BIG vs India

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, has been picked by former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag as his favorite to score the most runs at the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022. “Babar Azam from Pakistan,” said Sehwag on Cricbuzz. “He has been extraordinary. Great fun to watch. There is a sense of calmness whenever Virat Kohli bats and you get something similar when watching Babar,” he said.

“Obviously I’m going to go with India. Yes, there have been some talks of some key players, Bumrah being injured and what’s going to happen with the bowling but still I feel it with the consistency they’ve shown for the last few years, I think definitely are going to be the contender to be in the in the finals”, he said, while speaking to Cricbuzz.

Ravi Shastri backs Indian Batters

Former India coach Ravi Shastri believes the collection of batters his team has assembled for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is the greatest he has ever seen.

“I have been part of the system for the last six seven years, first as a coach and now I am watching from the outside, and I think this is as good a line-up as India has ever had in T20 cricket,” Ravi Shastri declared during an event at the Mumbai Press Club. With Suryakumar Yadav at No.4, Hardik (Pandya) at No.5, and Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik at No.6 it makes a massive difference as it allows the top order to play the way they are playing.”

Wasim Akram’s Pick for the semis

Former Pakistani bowler Wasim Akram has revealed his pick for the semi-finalists of the 2022 T20 World Cup. The former captain of Pakistan predicted that India, Pakistan, and Australia would advance to the T20 World Cup semifinals. He continued by naming South Africa a “dark horse” and adding it to the list.

“Australia, India, and Pakistan should compete in the semifinals, in my opinion. However, South Africa might be a surprise,” Akram told the journalists in Dubai.
