IND vs PAK: Virat Kohli-led India had a disappointing campaign in the recently concluded T20 World Cup and former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-Ul-Haq claims that it was because – the relations between Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri, and BCCI were not great ahead of the marquee event. Inzamam also pointed out that Kohli’s announcement of stepping down as India’s T20 captain ahead of the T20 World Cup showed that there was a lot of pressure on Virat Kohli & not all was right between the Indian camp and BCCI.

IND vs PAK: Inzamam Ul Haq claims ‘relation between Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri, and BCCI’ not great

Speaking to ARY News, Inzamam-Ul-Haq said: “I said this even before the match, that this statement of leaving captaincy after the tournament… it is not good. You have to play a big event and this shows that there is pressure on you and you are not comfortable. They all knew that after this tournament, Shastri was to get replaced by Dravid.”

Inzamam further said that no one takes such a big decision going into a tournament like a World Cup and emphasized that there was some problem between the skipper, coach, and the board.

“This should not happen before a big event. Your authority gets challenged. And this means that relations between Kohli, Shastri and board were not great. If India were to win the T20 World Cup, would they have removed the captain and coach? There was some problem between them,” he further said.

Earlier, Virat Kohli had announced that he will step down from the captaincy role in the shortest format after the T20 World Cup & it was also known that Ravi Shastri’s coaching tenure will also come to an end after the showpiece event.

IND vs PAK: India had a forgetful start to their T20 WC campaign as they suffered a massive 10 wickets loss against arch-rivals Pakistan in the opening fixture. Speaking about Pakistan’s triumph especially due to the bowling unit, former Pakistan batter said that Pakistani bowlers always stamp their authority on India. He further said that every team is a little concerned when it comes to facing Pakistan’s bowling attack.

“Our fast bowlers always stamp their authority on India. We have always had a good pace battery. Every team is a little apprehensive about facing Pakistan’s bowling,” said Inzamam.
