Tim Southee’s dominance on Asia’s turning pitches: While the sub-continent pitches are most suited for spinners, New Zealand’s seam bowler Tim Southee seems to be an exception.
In 12 matches in Asia Southee has picked up 47 wickets at an average of 23.30 and an economy of 2.68.
He returned with a 5-fer in the 1st Innings of the Kanpur Test and played a prime role in restricting the host to a modest total of 345 runs. Despite the cracks opening up, he continued his prolific form in the 2nd innings also and has returned with 2-41 in 13 overs so far.
