This time R Ashwin was the interviewee and Shreyas Iyer, who was adjudged as man of the match, was the interviewer.

IND vs NZ LIVE: How does it feel to surpass Harbhajan Singh’s record:
Iyer starts by asking Ashwin how does it feels to surpass Bhajju Pa’s (Harbhajan) record. In reply, Ashwin says he is still thinking of the game as India were so close to winning the game but ended up yet so far. Ashwin further says, “Honestly speaking I’m not worried of what numbers I’m surpassing or anything, it’s a wonderful milestone.”
Speaking further, Ashwin says he never thought of being an off-spinner. “When he (Harbhajan Singh) was bowling that wonderful spell against Australia in 2001, I never thought I would even be an off-spinner on that particular day. But inspired by him I picked up the ball to bowl off-spin and here I am.”

Going ahead Shreyas Iyer reveals an interesting unknown story of R Ashwin. Iyer asks Ashwin to shed light on the fact that he used to emulate Harbhajan Singh’s action.
“After the 2001 Border Gavaskar Trophy, I decided to take up spin bowling and it was Bhajju Pa’s action. It’s pretty easy as you put up your hands up across and then hop and skip and then you go in” says Ashwin emulating Harbhajan Singh’s action.

Talking further, Iyer asks R Ashwin how does it feels on becoming the 3rd highest wicket-taker for the Indian team in Test. Ashwin goes on to say, “It’s a matter of pride like playing for India …I got my 200th Test wicket at the same ground and today surpassed Harbhajan Singh on very same ground again.”
