Surprising everyone Deepak Hooda opened the Indian innings with Ishan Kishan while others kept on thinking that Ruturaj Gaikwad would open with Kishan. Hooda’s 47-run-knock off just 27 deliveries became one of the highlights of the game. Hooda’s magnificent innings consisted of 6 fours and 2 sixes.
Chasing a low target of 109 in 12 overs, Hooda started off well with Ishan Kishan. After Kishan’s and Suryakumar’s dismissal, Hooda went on to build a strong partnership with skipper Hardik Pandya. BLack to back boundaries by Hooda helped India take a 1-0 lead in the ongoing series.

Cricket fans were surprised from the very beginning of the game with some of the decisions taken by skipper Hardik Pandya. Pandya opted for a playing XI which saw Sanju Samson being benched while Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda got a chance to feature against Ireland.
Pandya then surprised everyone by allowing Hooda to open with Ishan Kishan while demoting Gaikwad down the order. Taking up the new batting position, Deepak Hooda faired well and became one of the star performers of the Indian side to win the game for the Men in Blue.
