India are set to play England in a three-match T20I series, starting July 7. With the Test players not included in the first game, Malik is a sure to play in the opening encounter. However, Ghavri feels that the team needs to give him a good chance in the entire series.
“Of course, Umran needs to get his opportunity in the entire upcoming T20 series against England,” Ghavri told InsideSport.
With the T20 World Cup coming up in October and November, Rahul Dravid and co have time in hand to prepare the youngster for the quadrennial event. The pitches in Australia are going to assist pacers, which will help Malik get adjusted to bowling in such conditions.

“Now it is right time for him to establish himself in the T20 over format. This series can be good preparation for the T20 World Cup. His pace, no doubt will matter a lot. Even his deliveries in the air is also quick, which can trouble batters. If the wicket is helpful for pacers, he can prove to be a fruitful,” Ghavri added.
“If you have that extra pace and put the ball in the right areas along with accuracy, he can take wickets. He has done that in the IPL too.”
