Ind vs Eng T20: Axar-Bairstow to Morgan-Varun, 5 battles to watch out for-India are set to take on England in a five-match T20I series after their convincing 3-1 victory in Tests. Top players like Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur, among others will come out all guns blazing to secure another series win. But, this time around, England will have World- Cup-winning skipper and KKR captain Eoin Morgan by their side. The visitors will aim to turn things around in the white-ball format. As the T20I series is set to begin on March 12, we look at five key battles that will define the course of the series:

Jonny Bairstow vs Axar Patel

The England opening batsman has fell prey to Axar Patel twice for a duck in the third Test. Having managed just 67 runs in 10 innings, Bairstow needs to be back among runs if he wants to retain his place in the squad. He can possibly provide good starts to England in the T20I series as he is more suited for the white-ball format.

Eoin Morgan vs Varun Chakravarty

Sam Curran vs  Yuzvendra Chahal

CSK and England allrounder Sam Curran can play at the top order. He will face quality spin bowlers during the slog overs. Yuzvendra Chahal has the knack of picking up wickets in the slog overs. On the other hand, Curran is a brilliant pinch-hitter. It will be watchful to see if Sam Curran goes after him or target some other spinner.

Virat Kohli vs Ben Stokes

The Indian skipper will try to take on Ben Stokes after falling to him twice in the Test series. Kohli was also involved in an argument with Stokes after he reportedly abused Siraj. Following the incident, Kohli came out in support of Siraj but he was bowled out for a duck by Stokes in India’s first innings (4th Test).
