Ranji Trophy 2022 knockouts: As per a Sportstar report, Team India opener Shubman Gill will feature for Punjab in their quarterfinal clash against Madhya Pradesh in Bangalore. The 22-year-old last played a red ball last year against New Zealand and while hope to get used to the change in format.
Fresh from his best ever season helping Gujarat Titans to the IPL 2022 title, Gill will hope to make his mark before the travel to UK. Punjab coach Surendra Bhave confirmed his availability and told Sportstar, “Yes, Shubman is available for the quarterfinal against MP. “
Meanwhile, Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna wasn’t dished out the same treatment, with the Team management asking him to take rest in a bid to manage his workload. Karnataka are set to face Uttar Pradesh while Krishna will be resting following his excursions in the IPL, where his team Rajasthan Royals reached the final.
Krishna is yet to make his debut for India in the longest format but has recently made a regular appearance in the limited overs squads. KL Rahul was also named in the squad earlier but will miss out due to the India vs South Africa series.
