Speaking about India’s preparation, strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai said “Today is the first day of practice at Leicester. We have got a four-day game coming up. So we are just getting back to the drill after a gap of three months with the red ball group.”
On being asked about which routine the players are specifically following, he added “Just normal games, having some fun. Longish warm-up to get them going. Tomorrow they will have a long session to lead up to the warm-up game.

India will lock horns with England for the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston starting on July 1. The rescheduled fifth Test is counted as the fifth match of India’s 2021 series in England, which the visitors lead by 2-1. The fifth Test was postponed at the last minute following a COVID-19 outbreak in 2021.
