There is no doubt over the immense talent that Hyderabad batter Tilak Varma possesses. Last year, he had become the first player in the history of T20Is, to slam two consecutive tons. On then in the ongoing IND vs ENG T20Is, he hit a crafty 72, to take India to an improbable win in Chennai on Saturday. Many also hailed it as his best T20I innings so far,

Now, with that, many feel that Tilak Varma would soon evolve into an all-format player. And not that just, he is already being hailed as a superstar already. But former India opener Aakash Chopra has cautioned the experts, as well as the fans from doing so “Tilak Varma, the superstar. We sometimes call someone a superstar very early. We also call someone a great or a legend very early these days. I am not saying that he is already a superstar but he is on the way,” Chopra said in a recent video on his YouTube channel.

Not just that. Chopra also complimented the way Tilak went about his innings. He could have very well went for the slog shots when the wickets were falling from the other end, but then trusted his ability and took the game deep.

“He went till the end and didn’t throw away his wicket. 18 runs were required, eight wickets had fallen, and he had already hit five sixes, so he could have tried to hit three more sixes.
