IND vs ENG 4th Test: Rajat Patidar’s poor form ensues, will 2nd innings be last chance for batter?

Rajat Patidar might have one last chance to save his spot in the XI after a failure in the 1st innings of IND vs ENG 4th Test

Team India batter Rajat Patidar’s poor form continues with a 17-run knock in the 1st innings of IND vs ENG 4th Test. The batter faced consistent failures in the previous game at Rajkot as well. It looks like Patidar has just one last opportunity to prove himself in the 2nd innings before losing his spot in the XI.

IND vs ENG 4th Test: Time running out for Rajat Patidar?

Patidar’s form in IND vs ENG series so far

After disappointment in Vizag, the batter was dismissed for a duck in the second innings of the India vs England 3rd Test. Having scored just five runs in the first innings, Patidar went back without troubling the scorers in the 2nd.

The prolific domestic batter had scored two centuries in the India A vs England Lions series and earned himself a maiden India call-up. Luck proved to be on his side, and in the absence of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, the right-handed batter was given the opportunity.

Patidar impressed with a 72-ball 32 in his first outing in Test cricket. However, in his next three innings, he scored just 14 runs.
