The fact that it may not be popular won’t deter me cos my goal is not to win the war of words, it is to learn at the end of it,” Ashwin wrote on his Twitter account.
To note, Ashwin has been on the receiving end for a number of times due to his average performances in the international cricket. However, the veteran has always stood up in crunch situations whether the high-octane clash against Pakistan in T20 WC or his recent antics with the bat against Bangladesh.

On Day 4, India lost night-watchman Jaydev Unadkat as Shakib Al Hasan trapped him in front for 13. The dismissal led to a flurry of wickets, with the visitors losing Rishabh Pant (9) and Axar (34) in the space of nine balls.
Coming in when India were seven wickets down, Ashwin and Iyer rode out the storm caused by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The Indian pair maintained their temperament and stitched a match-winning 71-run unbeaten partnership to complete the clean sweep 2-0 against Bangladesh. Ashwin was awarded the Man of the Match for his batting performance on Day 4 while also picking up 6 wickets over the course of the two Bangladesh innings.
