Ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, both Virat and Rohit have relentlessly played spin working on their game. The BCCI named 10 spinners to the camp, with the batsmen working on the chinks in their armour.
On turning surfaces, Kohli and Rohit will be expected to carry India’s ship. However, they face a stern test in Nathan Lyon. The Australian tweaker has the number on both Indian stars. No bowler has dismissed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli more times in Test cricket than Nathan Lyon.

The matchup is clearly on India’s mind. The idea to have 10 spinners in the nets suggests that Rohit and Virat are not willing to give up just yet. As per Indian Express, the Indian stars practised in the scoring heat in Nagpur. Along with their conventional shots, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both practised sweeps and reverse sweeps.
Rohit also adopted the slog sweep on several occasions. He requested to face more spin after a long spell from Mohammed Siraj. Kohli meanwhile worked on his backfoot game, trying to cut the spinners through the covers. The former captain also employed the use of his feet to meet the ball on the full.
