Tim David represented Singapore in 14 T20Is. He had, as of the latest count, played for nine different teams in T20 leagues all around the world. He also plays in England’s 100-ball league, The Hundred. He is a T20 globetrotter, that much is obvious, but Tuesday night in Mohali promises to be different. As Tim will play his first T20I for Australia against India.
This is the 26-year-old’s first substantial experience of international cricket. David, who was born in Singapore but was raised in Perth, will serve as Australia’s designated big-hitter in the three-match series in the absence of Mitchell Marsh and Marcus Stoinis.

- Tim David has made his name in the current Aussie set-up without being part of the national and state contract system.
- Surprisingly, his only contract in the Australian game is with Hobart Hurricanes.
- David, a powerful 6ft 5in a middle-order hitter, has also played 14 T20 Internationals for Singapore.
- David established himself as one of the top finishers in the world by finishing the PSL season with 278 runs at 39.71 and a staggering strike rate of 194.40, while playing for Multan Sultans.
- Despite being dropped early in the competition, David faced 86 balls in the IPL 2022 and smashed 16 of them for six, concluding the season with the best strike rate for a batter in a single campaign (minimum 50 balls).
