Rohit Sharma came into the scanner recently for his outbursts during India’s fielding lapses. In the first T20I in Mohali, KL Rahul and Axar Patel were guilty of dropping catches which changed the complexion of the match.

Speaking at an event for Livfast, former India captain MS Dhoni provided insight on how he dealt with dropped catches in particular. The legendary skipper advised that it was important to remain calm and control their emotions.

Dhoni said, “Honestly, when we are on the field, we do not want to make any mistakes whether it’s misfielding, dropped catches or any other mistake.I always try and get into their shoes to figure out why a player dropped a catch or why somebody misfielded.”

“Getting angry does not help matters. There are already 40,000 people watching from the stands and crores of people watching the match (on TV, streaming platforms). I had to see what the reason was (for fielding lapses),” the former skipper added.
