IND vs AUS: Is Green recovering well from the finger injury? – A lofted six in the nets session made Labuschagne pretty pumped about Green playing the first Test. Physiotherapist Nick Jones is closely keeping a tab on Green and feels there is no discomfort whatsoever even while he bowled for 30 minutes. Although the bowling session was a light-intensity one, the Aussies are still feel Green is only fit 85%.

“I wouldn’t say he was in discomfort when he was bowling. One of the deliveries jarred the bottom of the bat, and that can create discomfort for anyone.

“There’s a bit of awareness around that finger. He’s made some significant steps forward in the last couple of days, probably to my surprise.”

IND vs AUS: Who will replace Green in the playing XI if he is ruled unfit for the first Test

· Peter Handscomb looks likely to make a comeback in the Test team if Green is ruled out the first Test.

· Handscomb, whose last Test came in 2019, had an extensive batting session in the nets on Friday.

· The right-hand batter is also a good player of spin and is pretty aggressive against pacers.

· Apart from Handscomb, Australia have Matthew Renshaw as the other option.

· Australia though are unlikely to play Green, if he is not fit to bowl in the first Test.
