Former cricketers Chris Gayle, Makhaya Ntini, and Monty Panesar are set to compete in the inaugural edition of the International Masters League (IML), kicking off on February 22. The tournament will be hosted in Navi Mumbai, Rajkot, and Raipur from February 22 to March 16.
“The IML is an amazing platform to relive those iconic moments and share the field with some of the game’s greatest. I’m excited to bring the Universe Boss energy to this league,” said Gayle in a statement. Ntini added, “This reunion is going to be unforgettable. The cricket we play will be intense, relentless, and exhilarating. Fans are in for a treat.”
Yuvraj, Sachin, among others to feature in IML
Additionally, Indian cricket legend Yuvraj Singh has confirmed his participation in the tournament. The IML will feature six teams representing India, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, Australia, and England.
The opening match of the IML will be a highly anticipated faceoff between India (led by Sachin Tendulkar) and Sri Lanka (led by Kumar Sangakkara) on February 22, 2025. The tournament will follow a league-based format, with each team playing multiple matches against each other. The matches will start at 7:30 PM IST and will be broadcast live on Disney+ Hotstar, along with Colors Cineplex and Colors Cineplex Superhits.
