India cricket team captain Rohit Sharma had a rather blunt response to a question on the kind of pitch expected for IND vs PAK tie in Champions Trophy. After beating Bangladesh in their tournament opener, the Men in Blue will take on their arch-rivals in the next game on February 23. India are playing all their CT 2025 matches in Dubai.
Rohit Sharma on pitch for IND vs PAK clash
Speaking at the post-match presentation, Rohit reckoned that the pitch for IND vs PAK clash is expected to be similar to what was dished out for the contest against Bangladesh. He said that he wasn’t the pitch curator to explain how exactly the surface would behave.
“Not sure, but it will be pretty much similar I guess. I am not the curator here to tell you how exactly it will play but looks like it with the way the games have been played here,” Rohit Sharma said.

India put up a clinical performance against Bangladesh in their opening game of the Champions Trophy. Rohit and co. clinched a 6-wicket win against the Tigers, with Shubman Gill, Shami, KL Rahul and Axar Patel starring for India. Shami looked like he was back to his old form as the veteran pacer ran through the opposition to pick up a five-wicket haul. Harshit Rana bagged 3 wickets while Axar took two. Bangladesh were bowled out for 228.
In response, Gill slammed a ton while Rohit managed to get a good start but was forced to depart for 41 runs. Virat Kohli faltered, managing to score only 22 runs. Rahul and Gill then finished the game for India, with the former striking a six off the last delivery to seal the win.
