ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Team of the Tournament: Four Indians make cut ft. Gongadi Trisha

Four Indian players, including top run-scorer Gongadi Trisha and leading wicket-taker Vaishnavi Sharma, have been named in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup XI.

Four Indian players, including the leading run-scorer Gongadi Trisha, have been named in the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup team of the tournament by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Trisha was the top performer, scoring 308 runs at an average of 77.25 and a strike rate of 147. Her outstanding performance included an unbeaten 44 and three crucial wickets in the final against South Africa on Sunday, helping India defend the championship successfully in Kuala Lumpur.

Joining Trisha in the team is G Kamalini, who provided stability at the top with 143 runs and an average of 35.75. A big contribution was her 56 not out in the semi-final against England. South Africa’s Jemma Botha, England’s Davina Perrin, and Australia’s Caoimhe Bray also made the lineup, with Bray contributing with both bat and ball, taking seven wickets during the tournament.

Vaishnavi Sharma in the bowling attack

India’s Vaishnavi Sharma spearheads the bowling attack with impressive figures, collecting 17 wickets at an average of 4.35, including a hat-trick against Malaysia. Fellow Indian Aayushi Shukla also shone, taking 14 wickets, including 4 for 8 against Scotland. Additionally, Sri Lanka’s Chamodi Praboda and Nepal’s all-rounder Puja Mahato, who was Player of the Match against Malaysia, added depth to the bowling lineup.

England’s wicketkeeper Katie Jones gained recognition for her sharp performances, with nine dismissals. South Africa’s Kayla Reyneke, praised for her leadership and 11 wickets, served as the team’s captain, guiding her side through an unbeaten streak until the final.
