Mitchell Starc produced a stunning performance with the ball as Kolkata Knight Riders blew Mumbai Indians apart at Wankhede. The Kolkata outfits clinched a 24 run victory to storm into the second spot on the Points Table. Ace pacer Mitchell Starc was thrilled with his side after complete all-round performance across every department in the team.
“To win by 20 odd runs is a fantastic performance. At some points we were behind the game. We were not used to the start that he had with the bat in the beginning of the game. They have been fantastic throughout the tournament. We lost few wickets at the start and had to rebuild a little bit,” said Starc after the match.

Mitchell Starc was thankful to KKR’s spinner duo of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy. The duo put our identical bowling numbers, scalping 2 wickets apiece by giving away 22 runs in their 4 over spells against Mumbai Indians.
“Our spinners in the middle overs were phenomenal. They put the pressure back on them, but then it is the nature of the tournament. It’s never over, till it’s over. To close the way near the end was fantastic,” the highest priced pacer in the history of the tournament added.
But Mitchell Starc redeemed himself with a stunning 4 wicket haul. He struck first to dismiss Ishan Kishan. And then 3 wickets in 4 balls of the last over of the game, secured the win in favour of the visitors.
