IPL 2025 total matches

The 2025 IPL season is set to be an exciting spectacle of cricket, featuring a total of 74 matches. This number includes the regular season games, followed by the playoff matches and the grand final.

The format of the league remains consistent with previous editions. Each team will play 14 matches in the league stage, facing off against other teams in a round-robin format. The top four teams from the league stage will advance to the playoffs, which include Qualifier 1, the Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the Final. This format ensures that the most consistent and deserving teams get a chance to compete for the trophy.

IPL 2025 start date

The tournament is scheduled to run from March 23, 2025, to May 25, 2025, encompassing nearly two months of high-intensity cricket. All 10 franchises have already picked the squad of their liking during the mega auction, which was held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25. After the end of the auction, there were speculations about the possible date when the cash-rich league would commence.

Rajeev Shukla, who attended the Special General Meeting (SGM) in Mumbai, revealed the date of IPL 2025 while speaking to reporters and said, “IPL is going to start from March 23.” Shukla also confirmed that the venues for the WPL have been finalised and will be declared soon.
