India will play host to the Hockey World Cup for the second successive time. The last edition in 2018 was also held in Odisha. This year the matches will be played across two venues in the state – Kalinga Stadium in Bhubhaneshwar and Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela.
In the 2018 World Cup India lost in the quarterfinals and finished in the sixth place. Playing yet again in front of home crowd, the team is eyeing a better show. They are placed in a challenging group alongside England, Spain and Wales in the upcoming edition.

13th January
India vs Spain – Rourkela – 7.00 PM
15th January
England vs India – Rourkela – 7.00 PM
19th January
India vs Wales – Bhubhaneshwar – 7.00 PM
A total of 16 teams will play in this edition of the World Cup. All the 16 teams are divided into two group of 4 teams each. The teams finishing at the top two spots in their respective groups will advance to the quarterfinals. The semifinals is scheduled to be played on 27th January, while the final will be played at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubhaneshwar on 29th January, Sunday.
