Former England all-rounder Kevin Pietersen was left mightily impressed by Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal has been in fine form in the IND vs ENG series, and he continued his run-scoring streak with yet another century on the third day of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test. Jaiswal looked in fine touch and scored his second century of the series in just 122 balls. Petersen after the day asserted that Jaiswal is on his course become a legend of the game.

Jaiswal started his innings cautiously, taking his time to set up his game. Indian lost their captain Rohit Sharma early but Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal consolidated India’s grip on the match.

Jaiswal scored his half-century in 79 balls and then took off. He took just 43 balls after his half-century to hammer his ton. Although Yashasvi retired hurt due to a back pain, his innings left a lasting impression on former England all-rounder Pietersen. Pietersen took to social media to heap praises on the young southpaw.

“And watching Jaiswal very closely over the last couple weeks, he CAN get 100s everywhere and I think he will be a GREAT of the game one day!” Pietersen wrote on X (previously Twitter).
