Haris Rauf comfortable bowling in nets, PCB’s call whether to play in Champions Trophy opener

Pakistan play their first game of the ICC Champions Trophy on 19th February against New Zealand

It is good news for the Pakistan Cricket Team as ace pacer Haris Rauf is back from injury. Ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, the Men in Green were hit with a major concern as Rauf suffered an injury during the tri-series tournament with New Zealand and South Africa. But now, Rauf has revealed that he is feeling comfortable, but it remains to be seen if he will be used in the tournament’s opening game.

Pakistan, who are the hosts of the tournament will kick start the tournament on 19th February as they take on New Zealand. Haris Rauf has claimed that it will be the decision of the team management whether to use him in the match against the Kiwis.

Haris suffered a lower chest strain during the tri-series and he was rested by the Pakistan team. Previously, the PCB too officially confirmed that the injury was not serious and Rauf will be back in action. But as a means of precautionary measure, he was rested from the series.

Now, with just a day remaining before the start of the tournament, Rauf has revealed that he has resumed bowling. He further claimed that he is comfortable bowling in the nets and his body too has been responding well.

“The injury is not serious and he is expected to be fully recovered for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which commences in Karachi on 19 February,” a PCB statement claimed a couple of days back.
