Gujarat Polls: Ravindra Jadeja backs wife Rivaba and promotes BJP; his father asks voters to go for Congress in Jamnagar North
Earlier, Jadeja’s sister Naynaba was campaigning for Congress for the Jamnagar North seat
“I too had staked a claim for a ticket from Jamnagar, but the party denied it. There are senior leaders at the helm of the Congress who understand the ground situation better. Had they given me a ticket, the contest would have been between me and my sister-in-law,” Naynaba said earlier.
Naynaba also stated that India is a democratic country in which everyone has the right to express themselves. She went on to say that the conflict with Rivaba is ideological rather than personal.
“When I meet Ravindra Jadeja or his wife, I don’t discuss politics with them. Since 2019, we chose our parties, but we didn’t let it affect our relationship. They are fighting their battle and I am fighting mine,” she added.
Rivaba’s political journey so far:
Jadeja’s wife joined the BJP in 2018. Rivaba replaced an existing candidate from Jamnagar to contest the assembly elections. The first list of candidates was released by the BJP on November 10.
- This is the first time Rivaba will be contesting elections from Gujarat.
- Rivaba is also the niece of Congress politician Hari Singh Solanki.
- Before joining the BJP in 2018, Rivaba was appointed as chief of the women’s wing, Karni Sena.
