Chasing a modest target of 144, Punjab Kings stumbled in the powerplay with Jonny Bairstow, who was sent to open, failed once again. However, Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa took on the Gujarat Titans bowlers, who were off-colour on Tuesday.
Dhawan and Rajapaksa added 87 runs for the 2nd wicket, taking the match away from Titans. Shikhar Dhawan smashed his 47th IPL half-century while Rajapaksa scored 28-ball 40. While Lockie Ferguson removes Rajapaksa in the 12th over, Liam Livingstone set the stage on fire.
It was the 16th over when PBKS still needed 27 runs to win and Livingstone hammered Shami for 28 to finish the game with four overs to go. He remained unbeaten on 360 off 10 balls while Dhawan remained unbeaten on 62. Livingstone’s carnage also included a huge six of 117m.

Table-toppers Gujarat Titans decided to bat first and it backfired. Barring Sai Sudarshan, none could put up a good show. Kagiso Rabada bagged four wickets while spinners restricted GT to 143/8.
Gujarat Titans struggled from the word go with Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha, David Miller and Hardik Pandya all fell cheaply. In the middle overs, batting became difficult with the ball gripping to the surface.
But Sai Sudarshan kept going rotating the strikes and building up small partnerships. He remained unbeaten on 65 as Gujarat Titans posted 143/8.
