MI beat GT Highlights: Chasing a target of 178, Gujarat Titans were on top. Wriddhiman Saha (55 off 40) and Shubman Gill (52 off 36) slammed half-centuries to put up a 106-run opening stand. But that is where Gujarat’s dominance ended.
Mumbai made a strong comeback with Murugan Ashwin removing both Saha and Gill in two overs in the 13th over with GT still needing 67 off 42 balls. Soon, Sai Sudarshan made an unfortunate mistake of hit-wicket and the momentum changed.
This is when Ishan Kishan starred. The Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper inflicted two crucial run-outs of Hardik Pandya and Rahul Tewatia by just millimetres and that changed the game.
The other star for MI was Daniel Sams. With Jasprit Bumrah going for 11 runs in the 19th over, Daniel Sams had to defend 8 runs in the last over with David Miller and Rahul Tewatia on crease.

- Ball 1: Sams to Miller, 1 run, slower deliver
- Ball 2: Sams to Tewatia, DOT BALL, another slower delivery
- Ball 3: Sams to Tewatia, DOT-BALL and RUN-OUT. Tewatia missed the slower delivery and tried to snatch a single but Ishan Kishan with a brilliant throw run-out Tewatia.
- Ball 4: Sams to Rashid Khan, 1 RUN. The Afghan spinner swings and edged but Sams failed to take the catch, 1 Run.
- Ball 5: Sams to Miller, DOT BALL. Swing and a miss.
- Ball 6: Sams to Miller, need a 6 off the last ball. Sams bowled a slower full-toss and Miller missed it.
MI beat GT Highlights: Mumbai Indians failed to capitalise on a good opening stand between Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. With the middle-order faltering again, Mumbai Indians managed to put just 177/6 on board, all thanks to Tim David’s 21-ball 44. Gujarat Titans will be happy to chase 176, especially after Delhi Capitals scored 207.
Sent to bat, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan added 74 runs for the opening stand. The two finally returned to form after a string of failures. MI captain was looking in good touch and was looking to break the 17-innings half-century drought. But he fell short, departing for 43. Ishan Kishan also failed to convert his start to a big score, falling for 45.
But then, the middle-order collapsed. Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Kieron Pollard all fell cheaply. Thanks to Tim David’s 21-ball 44, Mumbai Indians managed to score 177/6.
