GT predicted playing XI vs MI: Gill & co eye redemption, will Ishant Sharma get a game?

GT are unlikely to change their playing XI for the contest against MI as Gill & co look to bounce back after 11-run loss to PBKS

Gujarat Titans are likely to not tinker with their playing XI for the game against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. Shubman Gill and co. will be aiming to bounce back after losing by 11 runs to PBKS in their IPL 2025 opener. While GT’s batters are in sublime form, it is their bowling unit which will have to step up against MI at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

No issues with batting line-up

GT’s batters fared well in the high-scoring encounter against PBKS. Sudharsan will look to continue his fine form after top-scoring for the side with a 74-run knock. Captain Gill will be aiming to convert a good start into a big knock against MI. Buttler and Rutherford will be eyeing to replicate their heroics in GT’s second match.

Bowlers need to step up

Although the surface at the Narendra Modi stadium doesn’t offer much assistance to the bowlers, GT’s unit needs to step up. The previous game saw only Sai Kishore taste success while the rest of the bowlers were taken to the cleaners by the PBKS batters. The likes of Rashid Khan and Mohammed Siraj, who are experienced in both the format and the league, will have to get back into the habit of taking more wickets. While Krishna is another wicket-taking option, GT can also turn to veteran Ishant Sharma, who warmed the bench in the first game.
