Mohammad Shami gave Gujarat a terrific start with his swing with the new ball and took three quick wickets. Hardik Pandya too surprised everyone by returning back to bowling and he looked comfortable, bowling his quota of four overs. Rahul Tewatia played as a pure batter and he dazzled with his 24-ball 40 that helped the Titans pull off a brillant chase in the last game.
Varun Aaron likely to retain his place – Gujarat opted to go with three pacers with Lockie Ferguson, Mohammad Shami and the surprise selection of Varun Aaron. Aaron conceded 45 runs in his four overs, but picked up two wickets. He is expected to retain his place in the upcoming contest at Pune, on a pitch that is expected to provide assistance to pacers.

Shubman Gill & Matthew Wade to open – Shubman Gill got out in the opening match without scoring any run but he will be the team’s opener alongside wicket-keeper batsman Matthew Wade. Wade had a good game scoring valuable 30 after two quick wickets.
Vijay Shankar was asked to bat at No.3 and the Tamil Nadu all-rounder failed as he scored only 4 runs. It remains to be seen whether the team management sticks with him or instead would opt to go with Gurkeerat Singh, who can also bowl off-spin if required.
