From ISPL to IPL: Tennis ball star Abhishek Dalhor joins KKR as net bowler

Well, it's certainly an interesting and, on top of that, inspiring story as tennis-ball cricketer Abhishek Dalhor gets rewarded for his impressive ISPL performance, earning a net bowler spot with KKR.

It’s just incredible, and certainly a bit rare, as a top tennis-ball cricketer has now made his way into the Indian Premier League. Well, that’s exactly what happened. After delivering impressive performances over the last two seasons of the Indian Street Premier League, a tennis-ball tournament, Abhishek Kumar Dalhor, the star all-rounder from Majhi Mumbai, has been picked by KKR as a net bowler.

Dalhor played a crucial role in the title-winning campaign of Majhi Mumbai—a team owned by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The Haryana-born player scored 324 runs and took 33 wickets across 19 ISPL matches over two seasons. He was named Player of the Tournament in Season 1 and Best Bowler of the Tournament in Season 2.

Who is Abhishek Dalhor

As mentioned, this star all-rounder hails from Ambala, Haryana. Coming from a humble background, Abhishek began by playing street cricket like many youngsters and gradually made his mark in local tournaments across India. However, it was the Indian Street Premier League that truly transformed his journey and brought him into the spotlight. In fact, Majhi Mumbai, owned by Amitabh Bachchan, secured Dalhor for an eye-popping Rs 20.50 lakh, starting from a modest base price of Rs 3 lakh, making him the most expensive player in ISPL history.
