Former cricketer arrested for duping luxury hotel, had conned Rishabh Pant too: Report

The report suggests that the accused, Mrinank Singh, had duped India cricketer Rishabh Pant of INR 1.63 Cr bewteen 2020 and 2021.

A 25-year-old former cricketer, Mrinank Singh, was arrested by Delhi Police on December 25, for allegedly duping Taj Palace Hotel of INR 5.5 lakh in 2022, and had also duped India keeper Rishabh Pant of INR 1.63 Cr between 2020 and 2021, as per a report in India Today.

Mrinank, who claims to have played for the Haryana U-19 team, also spread a rumor that he represented Mumbai Indians in the IPL. As per the police, the accused used to cheat hotels by posing as Karnataka’s Additional Director General of Police, Alok Kumar.

Rishabh Pant & INR 1.63 Cr

Back in 2022, Rishabh’s lawyer, Eklavya Dwivedi, had told Sports Tak that Mrinank told the DC skipper, that he started a new business of luxury items, and could get them for a cheap price. Pant, on the other hand, transferred a huge sum to get expensive watches, and gave him jewelry, and other items for resale purposes.

The report further suggests that, due to unfulfillment of commitment, Pant served him a legal notice, and Mrinank then issued a cheque for the same amount. But it could not be encashed due to insufficient funds.
