Focus on lower order as Indian Team hits nets ahead of IND vs NED World Cup Warm-up

The IND vs NED World Cup Warm-up match will be played at the Greenfield International Stadium on October 3 (Tuesday).

Team India hit the nets ahead of the IND vs NED World Cup Warm-up match on October 3 (Tuesday). Meanwhile, the focus was on the lower batting order as the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja spent time in the nets. The duo was followed by Shardul and Kuldeep Yadav. The focus was on lofted shots and power-hitting, with veteran Ashwin playing some good-looking sweep and reverse-sweeps. Thakur showcased his prowess with a few thunderous hits in the nets.

KL Rahul did some wicket-keeping drills during practice

In an hour practice session, wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul also did some special keeping drills. Meanwhile, the senior players including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli did not hit the nets. The participation of Kohli in the practice match remains under the cloud as he has flown back to Mumbai due to some personal reasons. On the other hand, skipper Rohit is expected to come out to bat against the Netherlands in the second practice match.

Meanwhile, Kishan faced pace throw-downs. The fans present near the vicinity got excited after pacer Mohammed Siraj started bowling at full throttle to Ishan. Middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav took the third net as he took on the local bowlers. However, he spent about only 15 minutes in the nets.

As mentioned above, host India face the Dutch side in the warm-up match on Tuesday. Rohit Sharma and Co. had to travel from the Northeast part of India to the South of Kerala to feature in the IND vs NED warm-up game. Unfortunately, India’s first warm-up fixture against England was abandoned due to rain.

After the practice match against the Netherlands, team India will gear up for their opening match in the marquee event. The Men in Blue are set to face mighty Australia in their opening clash of the World Cup. The encounter will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8 (Sunday).
