‘Fangirl’ PV Sindhu hopes to emulate Virat Kohli’s strong mindset – Check Out

PV Sindhu, who is an avid cricket fan and also an admirer of Virat Kohli wants to emulate his mindset as she is on a comeback trail

Apart from his prowess with the bat, Virat Kohli’s strong and fighting mindset is something that is admired by even the best of sportspersons. India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu, who is a Virat Kohli’ fan, admired the former Indian skipper’s mindset and hopes to take inspiration from it.

The World No.10 shuttler on Wednesday shared a video on her official X account in which RCB skipper and former South African captain Faf Du Plessis talks about Virat Kohli’s mindset that helps him score plenty of runs.

“The thing that separates Virat is that hunger to always be there till the end. You talk about guys being exceptional sportsman, cricketer or batsman, whatever. But the thing for me about Virat that stands out forever is his competitiveness to always be at his best,” says du Plessis in the video while speaking to Star Sports, the official broadcasters of the Cricket World Cup 2023.

“I have never seen anyone else that has a stronger mindset than him. He never has an off switch and it is always on. So inspiring for guys playing with him because it lifts your level of performance up in a long way,” adds du Plessis.

Sharing the video, PV Sindhu wrote, “The keyword here “Mindset”. Something I’ve been trying to learn and get inspired off late.” The two-time Olympic medallist is currently on a comeback trail after a poor start to the season.

PV Sindhu back in Top 10 in BWF Rankings

Having lost the spot in the Top 10 in the World rankings for the first time in seven years earlier this year, PV Sindhu has slowly finding her rhythm back. The 28 year old much recently reached successive semifinals at the Arctic Open and Denmark Open. It has helped her go back into the Top 10 in the rankings.

In the recent rankings updated on Tuesday, she has jumped up two places and is now at the 10th position in Women’s Singles. Sindhu is aiming to continue her form as she is currently embarking on the challenge at the French Open. She began the campaign with a hard-fought win against Gregoria Tunjung in the first round.
