FAKE NEWS ALERT: No, Rashid Khan is not getting 10 cr from Indian indutrialist Ratan Tata

In the Afghanistan vs Pakistan clash, the former had beaten them convincingly during the World Cup match, and Rashid Khan played a crucial role.

A couple of days after Afghanistan beat Pakistan at the World Cup 2023, a few videos on Youtube and Twitter claimed that Indian industrialist Ratan Tata had announced a cash reward of INR 10 Cr to Rashid Khan. It was alleged that Afghanistan star bowler was being offered this sum after the ICC had levied a fine of INR 55 lakh on the latter, for waving the Indian flag, after their win over Pakistan.

But the 85-year-old Ratan Tata has come forward and refuted the claim about. He tweeted, “I have made no suggestions to the ICC or any cricket faculty about any cricket member regarding a fine or reward to any players. I have no connection to cricket whatsoever.”

“Please do not believe WhatsApp forwards and videos of such nature unless they come from my official platforms,” the 85-year-old industrialist said.

Here are some of the tweets, spreading fake news about Rashid, and Ratan Tata.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan has surprised one and all with their performance at the tournament. They not only beat Pakistan but had got the better of England earlier. Currently, they are seventh in the points table, with two wins in five matches, and have a chance to qualify for the semis.
