IPL 2025: This season has been poor for Rishabh Pant the batter, who has returned with scores of 0, 15, and 2 in his three matches.

There isn’t much to say when your team loses, except for offering excuses. And that is what LSG skipper Rishabh Pant had to do after his side, LSG lost yet another match, also their first at home, against PBKS on Tuesday. Along with his own batting, team’s batting struggled too, as PBKS went to the finish line in just 16.2 overs.

Risbhabh Pant & Team Still Assessing Home Conditions

“It (the total) was not enough, we were 20-25 runs short, but that’s part and parcel of the game. Still assessing the conditions at our home ground. It is always going to be difficult to get a big total when you lose early wickets, but each and every player is trying hard to take the game forward.

“The idea was to get a slow wicket. I think the slower balls were sticking in. We got to learn from this game and move forward. There are a lot of positives, cannot say much,” Rishabh Pant added in the post-match speech. Right from the start of the encounter, Lucknow Super Giants were put under a lot of pressure, and were reduced to 35/3 at one stage.

PBKS Does a Much-better Job

Then orange cap holder Nicholas Pooran (44) and Ayush Badoni (41) added a 54-run partnership to save the sinking ship. And then towards the end, Abdul Samad played a cameo of 27 from 12. Come the chase, Prabhsimran Singh was excellent and scored 69 from 34 at a rapid pace, followed by skipper Shreyas Iyer’s 52 from 30, and Nehal Wadhera’s 43 from 25.

This loss has once again put questions on the LSG team, if they have enough resources, when three of their main fast bowlers are still injured. Having said that, they have slipped to the sixth spot in the IPL points table with two losses and one win in the IPL 2025.
