EXCLUSIVE | Very keen to watch youngsters Kashvee Gautam and Amanjot Kaur in WPL: Anjum Chopra

Kashvee Gautam will play her maiden WPL season for Gujarat Giants, while Amajot Kaur will represent Mumbai Indians in WPL 2024.

The second season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is all set to begin. The opening match of WPL 2024, will see defending champions Mumbai Indians facing last year’s finalists, Delhi Capitals, in Bengaluru on February 23.

This season of WPL will be crucial for the Indian players as the performance in T20 tournament will hold significance in the selection of the squad for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 set to be played in September.

Former India captain Anjum Chopra, who has been closely following the rise of young sensations in women’s cricket, talked about the upcoming WPL season and revealed players she is looking forward to watch.

“Kashvee Gautam is a young talent which I am looking forward to watch [ in WPL]. Amanjot Kaur also, I am very keen to watch. They have both come from domestic cricket and India A tours. These two are talented cricketers. Kashvee will play her first WPL. Amajot is part of MI franchise and she played last year”, Chopra said in an Exclusive interview to Insidesport.

Notably, Kashvee Gautam made headlines when she was bought by Gujarat Giants for a whopping INR 2 crore in WPL 2024 auction in December.

Meanwhile, Amajot Kaur made an impressive debut for India last year, picking Player of the Match award after she made 41 off 30 balls against to power India to a win against South Africa last year.
