The ongoing World Cup has seen several exciting matches already and the tournament has just started. Meanwhile, the Netherlands are taking New Zealand in a group stage match in Hyderabad on Monday. Veteran Van der Merwe was decent with the ball as he scalped two crucial wickets of Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra to jolt the Kiwi side.
To note, Netherlands is the second country that Merwe is representing in the World Cup. Earlier, the senior all-rounder represented South Africa in 2009 and 2010 T20 WC. After that, he joined the Dutch side and represented them in 2016, 2021, and 2022 editions of the tournament. Eoin Morgan (England/Ireland)
England’s World Cup winning-skipper Eoin Morgan first represented Ireland in the international arena before joining the Three Lions. Morgan was born in Ireland and represented the country in the 2007 ODI WC. He then moved to neighbouring country for better opportunities. As mentioned above, England won the maiden WC in their history under his leadership. Morgan scored 7701 runs in his 248 ODI games.
Ed Joyce (England/Ireland)
Just like Morgan, Joyce has also represented both England and Ireland in International cricket. Joyce represented England in the 2007 WC before moving to Ireland. He played his last World Cup match for Ireland in the 2015 World Cup. Joyce scored 2622 runs in 78 ODIs.
Dirk Nannes (Australia/Netherlands)
The left-arm pacer has represented Australia and the Netherlands over the course of his international career. His maiden T20 WC appearance for the Netherlands in 2009. Nannes represented Australia in the 2010 T20 WC.
Kepler Wessels (South Africa/Australia)
Kepler Wessels became the first cricketer in the world to play for 2 different countries in the WC. He performed brilliantly for Australia in the 1983 WC and for South Africa in the 1992 WC. Kepler Wessels scored 3367 runs in 109 ODIs.
Anderson Cummins (West Indies/ Canada)
Anderson Cummins is a former West Indies fast bowler. He was Man of the Match in the 1992 World Cup between India and West Indies. Then after 15 years, he participated in the 2007 WC for the Canadian team. Anderson took 91 wickets in 76 ODIs.
